Stanislas Deriemaeker

Stanislas Deriemaeker was appointed organist of the Cathedral of Our Lady in Antwerp in1962. Until 1996, he was also professor of organ at the Royal Flemish Conservatory in Antwerp. One of his students there, was Peter Van de Velde. He also taught at the Lemmens institute of Malines-Louvain and in the department of musicology at the University of Louvain. Since he retired from teaching Stanislas Deriemaeker has been devoting himself entirely to the organ.

He has given concerts in the most renowned organ centres in Europe, as well as in the United States of America, Canada, and Asia (the Philippines, Hong Kong, Japan and Korea).

He was appointed member of the jury at the occasion of the international organ competitions of Bruges, Haarlem, Dordrecht, Linz, St.Albans and Nürenberg.

Stanislas Deriemaeker has made a number of sound recordings, which include CD recordings of the romantic Schyven organ (1891) and the classical Metzler organ (1993) at Antwerp Cathedral, the Spanish organ in Melsele and the Verbuecken organ in Tessenderlo.
